The Vagina Festival 2023

This is round 3 of The Vagina Festival...LET'S DO THIS!

Think Cliteracy, Intimacy, Feminist Arts and Poetry up on the stage, at the end of your pen and through the mic.

During lockdown we sold over 450+ tickets and raised over £2400 for gynae cancer and infertility charities. Last year we took our festival IRL to the stage of inclusive venue, The Vauxhall Tavern with a sell out show stopper filled with music, open mic and live performances to shake up that feminist stigma.

This year, let's get cliterate as we head to Catford Bridge for our more intimate open mic, drag show and workshop. You don't want to miss it and there's very limited tickets on sale!

We very simply but not subtly wanted to put an event on to celebrate the end of International Women's Month with our intersectional feminist event, THE VAGINA FESTIVAL! We celebrate all things cliterature, story telling and feminist arts.

Headliners in 2022 Flat &The Curves

If you have been to any of our Festivals (online or IRL), you know we like to put on a big ol' creative, story telling, stigma shaking show surrounding our untold, unheard stories - just like the word vagina (a hidden body part, which is too often shrouded in shame). But this time we are shaking things up a little. We want to get to know our audience and have you involved in the celebrations with a chance to get creative on the evening.

We will be holding an Open Mic night so anyone can sign up on the night and have the chance to get up on our V Fest stage to share their words, song or performance with a limited number of spaces.

After the Open Mic be prepared for our creative writing prompts to do as groups or alone, with a chance to stand up and share what you've done. Plus we'll have some very special surprise performance vibes to end the evening, with a chance to stick around for a drink and a boogie.

Throughout the evening you'll have the chance to shop at our mini-market to support feminist artists and our chosen charity (to be announced).

Prizes for the raffle will also be announced on our socials, keep an eye out - you can buy tickets on the night or as part of the higher tier ticket.

FAQ's

Will I get an open mic slot?

Last year we did an application process but we are planning a little differently this time. If you sign up between 6-7pm everyone will have an equal chance with a limited number of spots. We expect there to be a fair few more people signing up to the number of spaces, so if you don't get to speak this time- there's always next time.

Will I get a seat?

Yes- we are only selling the number of tickets per seats

Is the venue accessible?

The venue and toilets are wheelchair accessible. Last time we also had a BSL interpreter as the full event and all performers was pre-scripted so our BSL had some time to prepare. As we are doing an open-mic this year we may not be able to provide a BSL for all of the event so will be filming it for captioned You Tube videos afterwards.

I have other accessibility requirements

Please contact us thevaginafestival@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements

I am not a vagina-owner, can I attend

Yes, everyone is welcome. This event is for all genders!

Where does the money go?

Your ticket means we can pay our headliners, provide other paid opportunities, make it a night to remember, cover all fees and expand the future of The Vagina Festival. We also have different charitable initiatives along the way.

Code of conduct

We will not accept bullying, racism, transphobia, homophobia or any form of hate speech at our event. You will be removed from the venue event if you go against this conduct and we will have security on the evening.

Support during the event

This event is a stigma-free zone and we appreciate subjects could be triggering, if you are affected emotionally by anything you hear please reach out to us privately and we can sign post you to various mental health charities for support.

What if I get a ticket and can’t make it?

Tickets are non-refundable. We are happy however, for you to re-sell your ticket to someone else who may want to buy it off you!

Is there an ID or minimum age requirement to enter the event?18+
